We are incredibly proud to announce that Ethos and New Forest District Council have won the Communication Award at the 2026 British Parking Awards for our work on the Council’s Parking Strategy.

Our award-winning entry, “Giving every community a voice”, recognised the approach taken to place meaningful communication and engagement at the centre of the strategy’s development.

From the outset, we recognised that parking is an issue that affects communities in very different ways. Our approach was therefore designed to reach a broad cross-section of residents, businesses, visitors, elected members and stakeholders, ensuring that people had genuine opportunities to influence the future direction of parking policy across the district.

The resulting engagement provided much more than a consultation exercise. It created an important evidence base that helped us understand local priorities, test emerging ideas and develop a strategy grounded in the needs of the communities it will ultimately serve.

Winning a British Parking Award is a fantastic achievement for everyone involved and reflects the strength of the partnership between Ethos and New Forest District Council.

For Ethos, the award also reinforces a principle that runs throughout our work: technical expertise is only part of delivering a successful strategy. Listening, communicating clearly and bringing communities with us are equally important.

A huge congratulations to everyone at Ethos and New Forest District Council who contributed to this achievement.
